Thank you for the “extra credit” for remembering the swine flu outbreak in 2016 that sickened 18 people attending state fairs showing swine. However, to be clear, neither I nor the link I provided said anything about VP Biden or his wife Dr. Jill Biden. I do not state lies to promote some kind of agenda.

The White House explanation was that he was talking about the great Obama-Biden RECESSION in the election year of 2016.

It is pathetic to try to defend Biden's dementia by making up ridiculous excuses for the things he says.

If you were not talking about Biden, who were you talking about? Nobody in particular? You just wanted to inform the world that you remember the Toledo flu, not that it had anything to do with Joe Biden's claim of being sent to Detroit to fix COVID-19 in 2016? But, going with the flow, that would place the Biden trip to fix something in August or maybe September 2016. Remember the White House fix was that he was sent to Detroit to fix the recession. The non-absurd part is that Detroit is related to the state's industrial base.

So, Biden was reading the teleprompter and misread Toledo Flu for COVID-19, and for the county fairs in Muskegon (29 July 2016) and Ingham (5 Aug 2016), Biden was dispatched to Detroit to fix the flu. Nobody died, 18 people got the flu in two states, most of them in Ohio. Two hogs in Michigan tested positve.

Double credit for attempting to stick to your story.

As for the official story, they corrected Biden's claim to read:

It was August 2016, coming into the home stretch of the Presidential campaign, when Biden was dispatched to Detroit fix the RECESSION. The first Trump-Clinton debate was just weeks away, September 26, 2016. Lester Holt opened up on the economy and Hillary responded:

With the United States, as he said, not so much. So Ford is leaving. You see that. Their small car division leaving, thousands of jobs. Leaving Michigan, leaving Ohio, they’re all leaving, and we can’t allow it to happen anymore.

As far as childcare is concerned. And so many other things, I think Hillary and I agree on that. We probably disagree a little bit as to numbers and amounts and what we’re going to do, but perhaps we’ll be talking about that later. But we have to stop our jobs from being stolen from us. All you have to do is take a look at Carrier Air Conditioning in Indianapolis, they fired 1400 people. They’re going to Mexico. So many, hundreds and hundreds, of companies are doing this. We can not let it happen.

Whatever happened to that claimed RECESSION?

Why do you think they would dispatch the Vice-President of the United States to Detroit to fix two sick pigs discovered at the Muskegon and Ingham County Fairs? Why Detroit? It is not near either county and the state government is in Lansing.
