Also, Boomers often got to ride the wave of home ownership without much effort - Younger people are not able to do that. Not saying I agree, but the differences are stark.

How so is that?

I bought my first home in 1987 right before I got married. The interest rate for my home loan was 12% and I thought that was great, being that a little before then rates were in the upper teens.

What did the average home cost as a multiple of average earnings in the 70s? The 80s? Look at it now. Its at least twice as expensive in real terms.
