LOL!! He was a character. My only knowledge of him is from the movies he was in, and how he was characterized by others. He died in 1946, the year before I was born.
Get out of her kid, yer botherin’ me. Ya smell like peanuts and popcorn. WC Field.s
W.C. Fields had a fear of being stuck in a town and having no money. So put money in many different banks in many different cities. But he rarely used his real name. Instead he used aliases:
Cholmonley Frampton-Blythe, Aristotle Hoop, Ludovic Fishpond, Figley E. Whitesides, Sneed Hearn, Aloysius Mergatroid-Hamms, etc.
So perhaps in some small town somewhere, there’s an account with Aristotle Hoop’s name on it - money just waiting to be claimed.
That is true for 99.99% of all humanity.
There are very, very few people alive today who could credibly claim to have knowledge of him not limited to his movies (and radio shows, etc.), and characterization by others.
