For what it would cost to organize something like that he could probably just have bought it.
I suspect opportunist, and it was disassembled for parts. Remember ‘cash for clunkers’? The used part market is very weird, still, because of it.
In my fantasy, I was thinking along the lines of the Nicholas Cage movie “Gone in 60 Seconds”, when there were several dozen vehicles stolen...all to be shipped overseas to waiting “buyers”.
It breaks my heart to think it was disassembled and sold for parts. But, those parts could very well be on eBay now.
