In the eyes of the neo-feudalists, the individual exists only to produce work product for the elite. Any concessions such as food, shelter, transportation, education, heat, etc. are only granted insofar as they serve the purpose of keeping the work unit optimized.
Understand this and everything coming out of the Democrats, the EU statists, PRC, etc. makes perfect sense.
Also other illusions about bipartisanship and camaraderie go out the window, but while we still grasp after such things our foe finds them useful weapons against us.
Again, it was during the 90s as I said in my comment. I was in the Mannheim area. I didn’t see it online as I was physically there.
No travel from the White House - no Air Force One, no Marine One, no VP plane, no planes/autos for ANY federal government agency, no limos, no campaign events, no beach vacations - if you must go - W A L K!!!
Except of course on official government business.

Same here, gal. Luckily except for doctor appointments (that are all in the same building), everything I need is in one location: haircut, toenails cut, groceries, gas, bank...Even if I don’t need to do or buy anything, I have to drive the car to keep the battery charged - everything is within 5 miles of my house.
No personal life and no fun for you. Just work and pay taxes.
It did at my church. We don’t have pews; we have actual chairs that are attached together by the hymn book holders, so they are easily separated and moved. At our church they moved them all six feet apart and staggered, so even if you came with someone, all of the people were sitting 6 feet apart. Children sitting apart from their parents. Insanity. Totally ridiculous and held about 1/3 of the congregation. We didn’t return until they moved all the seats together again. It was soooo stupid. I can’t believe how many people fell for the BS.
It’s a proposal, by one politician of a minority party. It is not an actual law or regulation.
I realize that it’s only one guy, but why is he still loose, and not under 24 hour watch in a padded room?
The government owns the public roads and has authority to set usage rules.
The Left has long pushed for rail and other public transit as a means to eliminate the automobile as a symbol of personal freedom.
I now sense a switch by the Left towards embracing self-driving vehicles as a means to their end of eliminating personal transport.
I can see a time in the future where only self-driving vehicles are allowed on certain public roadways. Because they can operate as a hive, the vehicles can be tightly spaced, communicate with each other (and the mothership) and move a lot of people quickly.
Ultimately, the government will take complete control of such system and declare it a new form of public transit.
In such future system, if you want to get to work quickly and inexpensively, just purchase tickets and one of the government transport units will arrive to take you to work and bring you back home.
Otherwise, good luck finding and paying for gasoline, and using back roads and paying increased taxes for among other things taking longer than 15 minutes to get where you were going in the new 15 minute city.

Why no restrictions on noncommercial jets?
Yes, I bet the list of exceptions would be a mile long: Government workers, sex workers, media, politicians, medical professionals, etc.
You can use your car all week to drive back and forth to work but on the weekends when you’re off, no driving sucker.
