A shooting incident during a graduation ceremony organized by DeLaSalle High School led to one person being killed on Saturday, as per local media reports. The gunfire exchange was caught on camera and a video of the incident reported from Kansas City's educational center was widely online. The footage showed several people trying to hide underneath tables, and some even running from the scene as a suspect opened fire during the event. Police in Kansas launched an investigation into the shooting that took place shortly before 4 pm, per local time.
The preliminary reports spoke about a large police presence at DeLaSalle High School premises over the weekend. The Kansas City Mo. Police Department officials rushed to the education center at 3737 Troost Avenue after they received initial reports of a shooting. I would and did for over 15 years when I taught higher education in the trades. Never know when some nutball’s gonna go postal.
I would and still take my side arm to school any time I visit them.
But then as a LEO and now a retired LEO. I just thought of it as part of the job.
