What’s funny is Duran Duran did a cover version.
I just watched both versions on YouTube. The original must have been the one I remember from elementary school/high school (seems really tame compared to today’s rap).
There’s one section in the rap:

I had an elderly relative who would always call a cab when he was having a medical emergency to take him to the hospital (which was about 1/4 mile or so from his apartment) because they would always show up fast. One day he had a stroke and couldn’t communicate, so his friend that was visiting at the time called the ambulance. Apparently took them more than an hour to get to his place by which time he was dead.
Goes to show, private enterprise is always superior to whatever the government provides.
