My Mother-in Law lived on the edge of an Ivy League University that was over run with squirrels. They were getting in her garden shed, her garage, and in her attic.
In her eighties, she started a squirrel relocation program with several live traps. People thought that she was taking them several miles away and releasing them in the country.
Actually, she had a 5 gallon bucket of water in her garage that she would submerge the live trap onto until they were dead and then she would relocate them to the trash can.
She was the “serial killer of squirrels.”
She could have made meat pies out of them. Like a Sweeney Todd for squirrels.
We had an acreage and the racoons were getting in my garage via our cat door to get to the cat/dog food. Got a large trap & started trapping & shooting them with a .22. A lady I worked with wanted me to release them and I told her everytime I caught one,I’d bring it to her to handle. They were always pretty pissed after they were trapped. I caught about a 1/2 and tossed them in our ditch. The buzzards had a field day.
