You can use a telescope in reverse to project the sun’s image on the ground. I did this for a school group for the eclipse.
Took a scope for the 100-yard line at the range for that.
Go right near the edge of the roof and place scope on tripod just into the sun, and project the image just into the shade made by the roof edge.
