If you have a solar panel, you could capture some sunshine in a jar and save it to charge your EV if the battery is drained.

I like MGUY...he seems to know his stuff.
And he sure thinks the push for EV’s is an on-going disaster.

1) That’s a boring video
2) No, he does not have a science background. How do I know?
3) The use of the word EFFICIENCY.

Electric drivetrains are around 80% efficient converting electrons to motion.
Gasoline drivetrains are around 20% efficient converting gasoline to motion.

The problem is not the drivetrain, it’s the volumetric and weight ratio to amount of potential energy in the ENERGY STORAGE (for example liquid gasoline’s potential energy vs a lithium battery’s potential energy).

Now, why the big fuss about electric? Well, we have > 100% and no telling how much spent developing the gasoline engine, and it’s still 20% efficient. We have not spent much time on electric drivetrains (for cars) and they are 80% efficient. In fact they recently went from 50% to 80%.

Also, the battery (which determines the amount of electrons stored per cubic foot and per pound) has been improving at an astounding rate. Basically batteries before 1990 had not changed much from 1890.

There are battery technologies in the lab and in development that promise 3x the power ratio, faster charging, and longer life. If those come into commercial use at a reasonable price, you will have a car with 1000 mile range, that refuels in 20 minutes, and the battery would last longer than the car (10,000 cycles) - that’s 27 years of full charge/discharge EVERY DAY.

I don’t give a flip about the so called gloBULL warming, etc. It’s about the best car for the money - best performance, low maintainence, and reliability.

BONUS: Self-Driving will happen. I have an AI background (and a patent). And they will be way safer than you can drive.

Yes, this entire EV thing is a scam. It is beyond idiotic to be pursuing this.
