I am in complete SHOCK! I just now found out that our own BRILLIANT Charles Henrickson passed away on April 28. Anyone who knew Charles knew how INCREDIBLE he was. His intelligence was OFF-SCALE. Nobody had a better way with words than Charles. At a drop of the hat he could could compose absolutely BRILLIANT and HILARIOUS parody songs. Some might remember that for a long while he was my partner in "crime" for producing the DUmmie FUnnies. I am very fussy about my writing so only someone whose writing I have total respect for would I allow to have carte blanche to write the DUmmie FUnnies whenever he wanted.
Okay, I will have a lot more to say but below is a reprint from his OBITUARY.....
Charles Michael Henrickson March 7, 1953 - April 28, 2024 Charles M. Henrickson fell asleep in Jesus on April 28, 2024. He was a resident of Greenwood, IN, and formerly of Chicago and St. Louis.
He was born March 7, 1953 to LeRoy and Marjorie Clark Henrickson. He was raised by his mother and Swedish grandparents on the north side of Chicago – loved Swedish Heritage, member of Swedish council of St. Louis and Indianapolis.
Charles had an extensive history of educational accomplishments. Charles graduated from Concordia University River Forest in 1974 with a B.A. in history. He earned his Master of Divinity in 1990, Master of Sacred Theology in 1995, and all coursework for his PhD at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. It was there where he met his first wife Sally.
Of that union, was born his only child, Anna, in 1995. Anna was born during his tenure/service in Sterling Nebraska at Immanuel Lutheran.
He married his wife, Susan Toole Bass, on July 4, 2020. She survives. Survivors also include his daughter, Anna (Aaron) Frei of St. Louis, MO; sister, Karen Pignataro; step children, Chandler (Colleen) Bass, Emma (Austin) Norman, Mary (Phil) Theiss, and Matt (Jenny) Sontag; and several nieces and nephews. Charles was currently serving as Pastor at Concordia Lutheran Church in Greenwood. He also had served at St. Matthew’s Sullivan, MO, St. Matthew Bonne Terre, MO, Redeemer Lutheran Potosi, MO, and Grace Lutheran De Soto, MO.
He loved preaching and teaching the Gospel that we are saved by Grace alone, through Faith alone, by Christ alone, coming to us through Scripture alone. These words by the Apostle Paul describe his life: “And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” (I Corinthians 2:1-2)
He taught at Concordia Seminary, Concordia Universities: Seward, Irvine, Mequon, and River Forest, DELTO, Providence Classical Christian Academy in St. Louis, Wittenberg Academy, Consortium for Classical Lutheran Education, as well as free lance tutoring in Greek, Hebrew, Latin and Swedish.
Charles was one of the original hosts of “Concord Matters” program on KFUO.
He was a five time convention delegate at the LCMS National Convention.
Charlie was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He loved languages, writing parodies, hymns, and poems. He also loved traveling with friends, great food, and fellowship.

I really can't say right now how much Charles meant to me. I met him in person only once in 2019 despite all our work together and he made quite an impression not only upon me but also upon my wife and her sister.
I could post a lot more about Charles but that will be for later because I'm already having trouble typing through the tears.
PING!
What name did he post under?
Charles Henrickson
Wow, sorry about this.
DUmmie FUnnies Is great.
I first saw your writing back during the Monica and Bill years.
Hope you’re ok. May he rest in peace.
He was one of FRs original and brightest pun stars. A master wordsmith. α Punstari in the constellation of words.

He also TAUGHT ancient Greek and Latin.
*I am in complete SHOCK!*
I’m not.
He’s 71! At least he was.
I had been wondering where his posting was.
I got a great kick out of his stuff.

Out of respect for your feelings on the man I decided to check him out on YouTube-10 minutes.
Let’s just say I found Pastor Manning more interesting.
Self-recanted evening,
When you see the flip-flops,
You may see where Pitt stops
Across the DUmmieland.
And somehow you know,
You know even then,
That sometime you'll see him
Recant once again.
Self-aggrandized weaving,
Bloviating windbag,
Going where the wind blows,
Not knowing where to stand.
He'll write to the left--
That's left to go right--
Will's so busy dancing,
He can't sleep at night.
Who can explain Pitt?
Who can tell you why?
Will gives two versions,
Neither one can fly.
Some fantastic FReeping!
Someone may be laughing,
You may hear the laughing
Among the DUFU fans.
And night after night,
When we go to bed,
That sound is our laughter--
Will Pitt's in our thread!
Once we have DUFUed
Will Pitt's swing and miss,
Then he'll discover
He can't recant this!
Aw dang
He is with the Lord now
🛐🙏✝️
His sermons he posted here were an influence on my becoming a member of an LCMS Church.
Why are white Americans dying so soon? It seems a lot here lately have passed away in their late 60s or early 70s.
