Buddy and I had finished a log cabin on his dad’s 30 acres on the river & we had lanterns, fishing gear etc stolen. Nothing high dollar but it still pisses you off.

Guys across the road had the same issue with people breaking in to their cabin so one day they went into town only to come back & saw that their cabin had been broken in after only being gone for a couple hours.

They went looking on their property and found a squatter who got the drop on them with a .22. He ordered the two guys to get on their knees and when one of the dropped, he grabbed the .38 out of the small of his back and opened fire. He told my buddy several months later that after he emptied the revolver, he was still firing due to the adrenaline rush.

I can’t imagine its easy to shoot another person and live with the aftermath but people have a right to protect their property, themselves and their families.

You did not mention whether he hit the perp or not. They should have split up to search the property, bad mistake.

Yes, that's somewhat true. I didn't have any emotional trauma at all. No regrets at all. Just concerned about running into another type like that because where I work is full of them and the city is a woke, leftist city that does little or nothing about it. THAT is the problem. I did not use all of my rounds, only 4 of 14. Multiple hits (9mm JHPs) in both thighs of the perp. He came at me with the pistol pointing at him. I have no understanding of that mindset at all. No-billed me and charged him. Gun returned very quickly. It's over and going to keep it that way.
