Yeah when Trump supported him that certainly gave me pause. I’m hoping he was just playing politics because he needs all the support he can get at this time. Unfortunately Trump doesn’t appear to be a very good judge of character and it shows when he willingly aligns himself with certain swamp creatures.

Trump is indeed correctly "playing politics" supporting Johnson right now. As the leading presidential candidate months before an important election, Trump needs Johnson to prevent certain bills from reaching the floor.

Yesterday, Trump specifically said that "now is not the time", implying that that there will be a time in the future to jettison Johnson. Trump also praised MTG yesterday, while MTG continues to attack Johnson.
