Kinston is one of the most dangerous cities in North Carolina according to CrimeGrade.org with a "D-" rating for murders. Also, they state that you are 300% more likely to have your home robbed in Kinston with no security system.
I have a few clients in that town, so we are there occasionally, and never without a defensive weapon cocked and locked.

My friend’s dad lives in the country - he is surrounded by farms and farming families. His family is nearby so all the people I know there are kind and sweet. it is a very poor city and we only go in town to grocery shop or pick up lunch from Kings BBQ.
