Very few own a home. I'd venture to say that 99.9% of those that think they OWN their home, in fact do not. Their so-called deed refers to them as tenants. So, we're 'All Tenants on this Bus'.

In fact NOBODY should own a home (ie, be a tenant).

Homes are built for Banks. People, not so much.

For the 0.01% (or less, much less) of homeowners that DO own their homes, they have Alodial titles to their land and homes, and they indeed have sovereign rights to their land/homes (NO property taxes).

I own my house. But I also have property taxes, which are a lot less here than they would be back in northeast Ohio where I was thinking of moving again when I retire.

Housing is downright expensive, outrageously so these days. I have some very critical financial decisions to make in the next year or so.
