Before ~ ‘42/‘43 they were pretty widespread even here. Good luck symbols, shoe medals, aboriginal designs. Last time I was at the Awahne (sp?) hotel in Yosemite their napkins had them on them with the end line of each leg curved.

And the swastika, for a lot of years before WW II was used as an inspection/approval stamp. I have a set of auto engine carbon scrapers, US made, from the 1920’s, and still in their original box. The box has a cute little swastiker stamped on one end. Too bad the Krautz had to screw it up.
