Not the brightest bulb on the factory floor.

“Suicide by cop.”
It happens quite a lot.
You got to be pretty dumb to bring that onto campus these days.
Suicide by cop for sure.
Talking with someone that has kids in that school.
Sounds like the kid had problems.
Pretty much all of the school shooters and mass shooters from Columbine on were on antidepressants and other chemical cocktails. Suicidal ideation and thoughts of violence are “side effects” - but, hey, big pharma making a buck.
Prayers for the family.
The Nashville shooter was a “transgender” out to murder white Christians. DOJ fought to hide the manifesto because they didn’t want the public to know the facts.
My Boys: “Ma! We’re going to go into the woods and plink things with our BB guns!”
Me: “Let me grab mine! I wanna play, too!”
Never in their wildest DREAMS would any of the three consider taking a gun to school. Even for ‘Show & Tell’ - which I’m assuming is no longer in vogue. ;)
This whole situation is a d@mn shame for all involved. We are ALL very thankful that it was not any worse than it was.
Some pellet guns are potent enough to kill someone.
True. Or at the very least put your eye out!
At a minimum, ‘You’ll shoot your eye out!’ ;)

Girardoni air rifle
18th century Austrian airgun
The Girandoni air rifle is an air gun designed by Italian inventor Bartolomeo Girandoni circa 1779. The weapon was also known as the Windbüchse. One of the rifle’s more famous associations is its use on the Lewis and Clark Expedition to explore and map the Louisiana Purchase of 1803. Wikipedia
Appears to be a suicide by cop.
Another one of those dastardly “military use” weapons’!
I have a single shot .22 cal. Pellet pistol I bought over 50 years ago. It would fool anyone just looking at it.
Gone are the days when students often carried guns or pocket knives to school. That came to an end in 1968 when the murder of Bobby Kennedy, by a Palestinian Immigrant and the anti-gun radicals saw an opportunity to demonize guns-again.
“Some pellet guns are potent enough to kill someone.”
Absolutely.
As a boy my brother and I each had a CO2 powered 10 shot bolt action repeating Crossman rifle. We did actually hunt with them. They approached 22 rifle performance.
Now there are serious hunting rifles that are super pressurized and shoot up to 30 caliber.

You beat me to it.
I’m a busy guy, so when I read ‘air’ in conjunction with ‘rifle’ I scoffed.
Turns out that it’s true, with a muzzle velocity just over 1000fps and decent accuracy. I had no idea that there were rifled barrel air guns. The profoundly expensive ones I reviewed in shopping years ago were not rifled, iirc.
Here’s a review of the Ruger:
For about $100, it’s on my list.
Will wait for results of an impartial imvestiation.
