The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

12 Christian brothers, I want you to know about the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

You need to understand the truth about this. 2 You know that before you were Christians you were led to worship false gods. None of these gods could speak.

3 So I tell you that no one speaking by the help of the Holy Spirit can say that he hates Jesus. No one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the help of the Holy Spirit.

The Kinds of Gifts

4 There are different kinds of gifts. But it is the same Holy Spirit Who gives them.

5 There are different kinds of work to be done for Him. But the work is for the same Lord.

6 There are different ways of doing His work. But it is the same God who uses all these ways in all people.

7 The Holy Spirit works in each person in one way or another for the good of all.

8 One person is given the gift of teaching words of wisdom. Another person is given the gift of teaching what he has learned and knows. These gifts are by the same Holy Spirit.

9 One person receives the gift of faith. Another person receives the gifts of healing. These gifts are given by the same Holy Spirit.

10 One person is given the gift of doing powerful works. Another person is given the gift of speaking God’s Word.

Another person is given the gift of telling the difference between the Holy Spirit and false spirits.

Another person is given the gift of speaking in special sounds. Another person is given the gift of telling what these special sounds mean.

11 But it is the same Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, Who does all these things. He gives to each person as He wants to give.

“Test the Spirits

4 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.

4 Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

5 They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”

Think about these scriptures... Pray and meditate on them. Invite the Holy Spirit into you to help understand and teach you.

Many of you folks sound just like the Pharisees. Your words are with judgement and without Love. You would not know Jesus if you fell over Him. Like the Pharisees, your words fall upon deaf ears and are not heard above. It’s no wonder that the Holy Spirit has passed by you as you are so full of your own importance that you have no room for God.

And the Mormons say the same, with their elevated man God and his wife, Luicifer brother Jesus, etc., while 1 John refers to the Divine Son of who is from everlasting. And the redeemed are those who have been spiritually born of the Spirit (Jn. 3:2-7) by effectual, penitent, heart-purifying, regenerating faith (Acts 10:43-47; Acts 15:7-9) in the Divine Son of God sent be the Father to be the Savior of the world, (1 Jn. 4:14) who saves sinners by His sinless shed blood, on His account , rendering them "accepted in the Beloved" (Eph. 1:6; Eph. 2:6-9) - not deserved by any merit of themselves or any church.

And which faith is imputed for righteousness, (Romans 4:5) and is shown in baptism and following the Lord, (Acts 2:38-47; Jn. 10:27, 28) whom they shall go to be with or His return (Phil 1:23; 2Cor. 5:8 [“we”]; Heb. 12:22,23; 1Cor. 15:51ff'; 1Thess. 4:17) In contrast to those who were never born of the Spirit or who terminally fall away. (Gal. 5:1-4; Heb. 3:12; Heb. 10:25-39) Glory and thanks be to God.
