Russia 1 state television commentators propose a resumption of Soviet-era psychiatric practices in which anyone opposed to the regime would be subjected to psychiatric torture.
@tuttebelleke 3 days ago Tomorrow they will ask their viewers what kind of tortures should be applied.
@PantalonesGrandes-px1io 3 days ago As lunatics are all over Russian TV, I think there is a case possible.
@nazdalaan 2 days ago This’s dark, Russia is crazy place

@chrillerkiller 2 days ago Ruzzia has become like the Iland in the book lord off the flies, complete madhouse. Dont think tourism will be such a big income for some time ahead.

@Lee_A_Furby 3 days ago Institute forced treatment for alcoholics; that's bad news for Medvedev and Solovyov then. Ranting on abouts psychos and cat people and sending them to the madhouse. Oddly closing these so called treatments has put most of them in the Kremlin or on Russian TV as presenters or guests.

I was just commenting this might be appropriate (joke) for a previous RT guest (member of Duma and head of Rodina) explaining the Russian invasion of Ukraine was the next part of Moscow’s 75 year Cold War against the US.
In the past Russian political dissident psychiatric admission was a legitimatised mechanism for conscientious objectors in the USSR to avoid military service in Afghanistan. While it was a terrible experience, it wasn’t a life sentence, with some “socially maladjusted” inmates released as “cured” after a year or so, their employment prospects damaged, but also their requirement to serve as soldiers cancelled too in a social trade-off. I feel this regime would more likely use that inhumane system to re-program people and release would come as a transfer to the Front.
The panic in the studio at the suggestion of mandatory drug testing leading to psychiatric imprisonment for offenders was funny
@deniscaputo6065 2 days ago some russians asked about their society today and inner politics reply : it is like 1937. One must know the history of Ussr to understand the meaning of that year.
Like we do here in America.
with perhaps a bit less finesse.
Patriots here will be sentenced to 24-7 reruns of The View.
But this could be deemed cruel and unusual punishment by the World Court.
that’s what the left wants to do to us
The courts are always ready to make special cases out of those ExtremeUltraRightWingers.
I really need to see that movie someday. Thank you for the reminder.
ZEEPER FOLLIES PINGLIST!
(((PING!)))
... to be added to the best Zeeper-provided entertainment since Paul Shanklin parodies, ping me bro.
Of course, reporting on what is actually on Russian TV is nothing but Ukrainian propaganda. The Russians can do no wrong, right?
Your obsession with Russia is sickening given how tyrannical our nation has become under Biden.
We call it the DC Gulag.
Ask Peter Navarro and the J6ers about mental torture, meggie.
Why don’t you care about your fellow Americans as much as you care about foreigners?
Could it be because you aren’t an American Citizen?
Is this like CNN in airport terminals?
While the United States forces taxpayers to fund such Punitive Psychiatry, including for children, the Duma in Russia voted to ban it and Putin signed it:
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/jul/24/vladimir-putin-signs-law-banning-gender-changes-in-russia
“Genital mutilation, castration, and hormones for those who suffer from Gender Dysphoria is Punitive Psychiatry.”
No, it’s a combination of quackery, child abuse, and zero population policy.
“Punitive psychiatry” is giving someone shock treatment because they didn’t vote for Putin. Which is what these people on Russia 1 are talking about.
Not much difference between Russia and the U.S. Here, if you speak out in opposition to the current administration, they send the FBI to invade your property. Then they either shoot you dead on your own property, or put you behind bars for the rest of your life.
Who gives a crap what Russia does to their people. I don’t live in Russia, nor do I want to. Nor do I give a crap about Ukraine. I’m more concerned about what this government is doing to innocent people here. The Russian government’s actions are the problem of Russian citizens, just like the evil perpetrated by our own government on our soil, is the business of American citizens, not Russia’s or Ukraine’s.
Like determining people who voted for Trump are mentally ill?
