My favorite unit of measure was the "Gilmore": when I was an engineering student in California, my buddies an I were sitting in the Cafeteria when a striking young woman walked near with a very sheer blouse and one heck of chest.

I said, "I'll bet she goes at least ten Gilmores".

She stopped and asked me what a Gilmore was.

I pointed at Jim Gilmore and said "it's one cubic mouthful measured by Jim Gilmore and Standard Temperature and Pressure".

She looked at Jim, who was very visibly reddening, and then turned to me and said "thank you" with a smile.

Who says engineers don't have fun?
