Born in New Orleans in 1951. I remember black and white TV, stuffed artichokes, Mardi Gras parades, street cars with moveable "for colored only" seat placards, mosquito fogger trucks, fishing trips out in the bayous, going to the amusement park on Lake Ponchartrain, learning to shoot my grandfather's J.C. Penny .22 and Sears 12 ga shotgun. Learned to read at 3. A lot more when I think of it.
We left for Memphis in 1960.
