Fortunately the mayor's bodyguard was in reasonably good shape. Fighting with a motivated lunatic is not an easy task. The bodyguard was, doubtless, inhibited by thoughts of being prosecuted (had he used the force necessary to end this fight). Notice how all of the able-bodied "men" in the immediate vicinity watched, like helpless little girls, as the cop fought alone. And, as the saying goes, "When seconds count, the police are minutes away!" Disgraceful! This commie mayor should have had at least two cops on his security detail. I guess the mayor was being fiscally responsible.

I would almost call it staged, the way it didn’t escalate and that the ‘homeless’ guy seemed really sharp (they’re usually spaced out), but even so, I don’t see a benefit to the (likely) gay mayor in staging it.

So, assuming not staged, they’re DAMN LUCKY the guy didn’t have at least a knife on him.
