It’s funny, kind of, but most people really can’t fathom how common they are East of the Rio Grande.
They are up and down the three forks of the Trinity. We have them here at Cedar Creek Lake for sure, but are rather shy. Because nobody feeds them!
My game warden friend was telling me about one in Kaufman city lake, but it moved on. They do migrate.
There is also an alligator ‘refuge’ in s.e. Dallas County near Parsons slough. Has signs up and all.
They have a taxidermist one at the museum at Fair Park in Dallas. 14ft. or so, it was killed when they were building I20 over the river in s.Dallas.
There is also a big guy who hangs out at the Kings creek golf course. Signs say Do NotFeed Him! He has a name, I cannot remember.
So alligators now can read?
They have ‘em in the Atascosa River in Pleasanton South of San Antonio.
You can’t throw a rock without hitting a gator refuge, farm or reptile zoo here.....yankee tourists SMH......P.T. Barnum was right all along. 😏
