I heard the exchange Gorsuch had with the Solicitor General and it really came down to her saying the Maga people were more guilty because they were “corrupt”, further meaning that all other protesters were not corrupt and would not be guilty. It was almost magical how this one woke lawyer could tell how that Jan 6 crowd was uniquely “corrupt”. Gorsuch was skeptical.
It was hate crime logic, which is really thought crime, which should be eradicated from US law now and forever.
Jan 6 was a protest turning into a riot, with some help from the feds, it was not an insurrection.
