Paul didn’t need Darby or Scofield to define what dispensationalism is. He invented it! Btw…I’m not saying I agree with Darby. But I certainly do agree with Paul’s dispensationalism!

Ephesians 1:10That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

Colossians 1: 25Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; 26Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Paul didn’t need Darby or Scofield to define what dispensationalism is. He invented it!

So because particular English translations of Paul's epistles use "dispensation" in place of the Greek word "oikonomían" (since he wrote all of his letters in Greek), it therefore follows that Paul was a "dispensationalist"? How is that logical?

And without reference to actual dispensationalism (which is commonly in reference to the theology popularized by Darby/Scofield), what would be the point in calling Paul a dispensationalist? (For reference, of the 60+ English translations of Ephesians 1:10 listed here, only 12 use the word "dispensation".)

It just strikes me as a rather inaccurate way to approach St. Paul's theology by grafting onto him the word "dispensationalist", as though it's an accurate reflection of his own beliefs and doctrine.
