My sons and I attended Manasquan HS, so I’m not a neutral commentator. The game clock clearly ran out after the final shot had been put up. But the decision was based upon racism, or rather the fear of being accused of racism.
Manasquan’s Players are mostly white; Camden all black. A Decision against the black team would have been portrayed as racist, and endangered the officials.

This wouldn’t be on issue if the rules said the ball had to be 50% within the rim by zero-time or it’s nogo. That would be a good, objective, easy-to-enforce rule.
