That’s what they have been doing- hunting has brought them enough revenue to support the parks and staff and because of that the species has prospered to the point that their numbers are having a negative impact on local farms, etc. These European countries are running campaigns against hunting.

The problem could be reduced by more hunting.

I agree that more hunters coming to Botswana would be the best outcome. But if the paying hunters don’t come for whatever reason, Botswana will have to deal with their excess elephant population without those hunters.
