The Argentines are the only ones who disinfected themselves from Communism, and that required not only killing the Tupamaro guerrillas but their families, their teachers and their teachers’ families, etc., anyone even remotely associated with the Communists was hunted down and killed.

Note in particular that the "suppression of dissidents" meant suppression of Communists often receiving support from Cuba and emulating Castro.
