My take is different too. NATO is a useless entity, that has never accomplished any real long-term effectiveness, and the fact that they took U.S. money for 75 years, which has been the bulk of their budget all those years, and wasted it, doesn't bode well for any so-called "change" in the future. Leopards don't change their spots. You are way too optimistic. This is an organization that was established in 1949 in the post WWII era, and it's a dinosaur that should have been made extinct years ago. It's as useless as the U.N.

NATO defeated the Russian empire and now is standing against the chances of a new Russian empire, and they are beginning to prepare to assist us if the almost certain war with China comes.

We are going to need NATO.
