We are not hearing the other side.
There are numerous stories on the web about dogs running free and attacking people and animals, often killing animals and sometime people.
The owners seem to have a stock response: It wasn't our fault, or our dog's fault, even when the evidence is clear it was their fault and the dog clearly was aggressive.
It is amazing to me how many dog owners are willing to characterize what their dog did, when they were not at the scene, did not witness what the dog did, and whose characterization of their dog is contradicted by the facts on the ground.
I was walking down the street after I had a hip replacement. I was using a cane.
2 westies came out to the street and climbing my leg before the owner got them off.
I wrote a letter to them reminding them of of our county and HOAs leash rules.
I told them how much risk they had put me in, and they would have had to pay for very expensive surgery if I had fallen.
I still see those damn dogs walking without a leash in our neighborhood. The dogs are cute, but they have had owners.
Also, I started walking at our senior center to avoid them.
This is true.
The owners seem to have a stock response: It wasn't our fault, or our dog's fault, even when the evidence is clear it was their fault and the dog clearly was aggressive.
The evidence is *NOT* clear. The picture I saw of the dog did not lead me to believe he was any sort of threat to a full grown man.
I've had to kick annoying and vicious little dogs across the yard before, but it never occurred to me that I should kill them, especially not with a gun.
I think this guy is a trigger happy little perv who gets off on killing animals.
At least there is as much evidence to support that as there is to support your view of events.
