Note that, probably aside of some engines manufactured for South and Central American countries, you can’t get an engine that is manufactured with the hole/install point for a distributor anymore!
Granted, the electronic ignition systems are fairly easy on the “fixing” side, but there isn’t any rebuilding of them as far as I know so some spares are going to be a must have.
I’m trying to avoid being bored stiff by the nervousness over EV’s, digital krap, big brother controls, etc. I’ve been there since the early 70’s when they started screwing with ignitions, etc. I’ve been hoarding engines since then and I have most of them-—should last as long as they’ll let me drive plus one more DWOAL. 216, 235, 250, 292, 325, 350’s, 361, 348,400, 425, 454’s-—they’re all here, O/H’d and ready to go.
I noticed awhile back they seem to be making less 30wt engine oil. So I stocked up on 30 and 10-30. They’ll run out of oil before I run out of engines.
