“Star” has to be the most misused word in journalism.
The fact that one appeared on TV, or in a movie, does not make that person a star.
That label should be reserved for outstanding performances, multiple times, and acclaimed by the public, not some award show put on by one’s peers.
I doubt there is even one actual “MTV star”.
People in porn movies are almost exclusively referred to as “porn stars”......I never understood that.
If there was ever a misuse of a term, that one is surely it.
