I sure hope not. If Trump can do it, then anyone who follows Trump can do it. And the imperial presidency is bad enough as it is now.
We have a system where much of the power is reserved for the states. As I see it, the best Trump could do in regards to cesspools like NYC is to make sure the 2A is honored. And make sure the elections are fair. Those are federal concerns.
Then if the voters want Democrats, they can have Democrats. Sad for the many good folks there, I know.
That would be a very bad road to go down.
Also, it has shades of the stormtroopers and brownshirts who worked directly for Hitler in Nazi Germany.
As it is, I believe the FBI needs to be disbanded. Last thing we need is more federalization.
Federalizing the local police force has long been an ambition of the Democrats and is in line with Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals. Get things so bad the people plead for action and be willing to relinquish controls to the Government. Once they have the power it will never be given back. And it will not be used for liberty.
Nope. The Constitution grants great autonomy to the several states. Unfortunately, Congress granted "home rule" to the District of Columbia, and what we got was:
