The problem with opening the channel quickly is the ship & its hazardous cargo on the bow with the bridge on top of it, all under enormous strain. The bow is resting on the bottom BTW.

Golden Ray Salvage in Georgia has the VB10,000 is available, but has not run in 2 years so it would require a month or two to restart it.

I understand your points. My point is that there are better tech methods than the puny(in marine terms) cranes the Navy is supplying.

BTW you wouldn’t catch me or anyone working for me with a torch anywhere near that site. The cable saw works well and is fast. The ship wreck in the Caroline proved that. I suspected that the bow was on the bottom. Thank you for confirming that.
