The Fullerton Police Department released new body camera footage Friday evening that shows the moments leading up to a deadly police encounter that happened earlier this month.
In the early morning hours of March 6, police officers were dispatched to a McDonald’s located at 1341 S. Brookhurst Rd. for a report of two men standing at the entrance and acting erratically, possibly under the influence of drugs.
Video showed the officers arrive on scene, where they found a shirtless man swinging a belt and speaking incoherently. Officers attempted to get the man to drop the belt, but he refused.
Additional officers were called to the scene and one of the officers deployed a stun gun on the man, who was unaffected.
Another officer then began firing beanbag rounds from a shotgun which are deployed as a less-than-lethal alternative to traditional ammunition.
The man was struck multiple times and seemed unfazed by the projectiles until a last and final shot was fired that appeared to subdue him.

Resisting arrest ain’t beanbag.
It was a mostly less-than-lethal alternative to traditional ammunition until it wasn’t.
Drugs make people do all kinds of stupid things.
Stun gun had little or no effect, multiple beanbag shots didn’t stop him, but one did for good. The man had to be high on something. So, saved a lot of paperwork and money, for now, but I’m sure there will be lawsuits by the far left.
“Less lethal” means sometimes the perp dies.
Alejandro Campos Rios, fine irish name.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Most “less lethal” methods work by inflicting enough pain that the perp stops resisting.
This doesn’t work when the perp is too high to feel pain.
The optics of wading in with nightsticks are bad, but would have been the appropriate and safe option. Then Rodney King - and the phenomenon of media collusion in peddling sneakily edited video to demonize cops - came along.
We tested some beanbag rounds here at the ranch about a year ago. At 20 yards they would break nearly all the way through a thin piece of plywood. They are just a ballistic nylon/fabric bag full of what looks like #7 1/2 lead shot, loaded at a low velocity, for those who are unfamiliar with what they are. They are touted as “Less than lethal” but, of course, just about anything powerful enough to incapacitate can also kill under the right circumstances. Including tasers.
If cops could go back to smacking someone across the legs for being an ass, things would de-escalate much quicker.
The devil protects his minions. The devil is running our country these days and the unrighteous are uplifted and worshipped.
Wasted a lot of initial shots if you ask me.
less != non

^TRUTH^
Years back, a couple of us tested some of em as well. Ended up with pretty much the same results that you guys got.
IF one of these hit a person just right, it’d most likely kill em, especially if they were already somewhat incapacitated/pumped up on drugs, etc.
IMHO, ANYTHING coming out of shotgun/rifle/pistol barrel can, and most likely, gonna be lethal.
Watch the FPD on Live PD. They are one of the best trained Depts. I have ever observed in action. Sad situation. Drugs are a curse on our society.

It was amazing seeing all those bags hitting in slow motion.
I wish I could find a clip but have been unsuccessful at tracking it down for a decade.
Zackly!
A Billie club was easier to understand by the stupid or impaired.
