This is an older article from when it was originally introduced last year but it's back on the floor again: https://therealdeal.com/new-york/2023/02/17/how-to-game-a-winter-eviction-ban/

Here is the actual bill:

It’s fun to watch Democrat legislators slit their own throats by not letting people control their own assets. They are trying as hard as they can to ruin NYC and turn it into another Trenton, NJ.

No link. The mods don’t like that.

“If you want to sell your property and get out of the landlord biz, as hoards of mom and pop landlords are doing due to the overly restrictive regulations of 2019...”

Ditto for California.

Our family owns rentals that we have had for decades. We wish to sell them and liquidate everything because we are getting older, two of us are disabled (out of three) and we no longer wish to deal with them.

Our real estate lawyer told us with all the changes in the rental laws in California the past few years, to get the renters out would cost between $30-50,000/per renter. Fortunately for us, all are excellent long-term renters, unfortunately, none of them can afford to buy the properties.

The government (perverts and psychos) can’t take over ..until they chase private owners out...then they can Nationalize it. Put their pervert buddies in charge.
First make impossible to follow all the regulations and restrictions.and then make it unaffordable overall.

The regulations amount to a “taking” of property without compensation.
