Good luck! The job just got harder then it would have been 24 hours ago.
Diversity is our strength, and don’t you forget it, citizen.
It….is….delicious….

but it’s still a Free Ride
She was appointed last year...this happened on her watch...DEI.....
But no
Her "credentials" include:
Another Affirmative Action Political DEI Hack. See. Incompetence. Very good for The Democrat party, the removal of various monuments and such in Baltimore, but not so good for running a port.
She’s DEI..
She Didn’t Earn It.
So is she qualified for the job or is this part of DEI?
The catastrophic damage to the bridge was foreseeable. Diligent maintenance of the bridge would have included bolstering the piers to account for the increase in ship size over the years.
The Maryland Transportation Authority is responsible for the mantenance of the bridge.
Governing board
The Maryland Secretary of Transportation serves as chairperson of the Authority’s governing board. Eight other board members are appointed to four year terms by the Governor, with confirmation by the Maryland Senate. Term expirations are staggered. Board members can be reappointed to additional terms, but a limit of three consecutive terms was established in 2007.
Daily operations of the Authority are overseen by the Executive Director who serves as the chief executive officer for the agency and is hired by the MDTA Board.
Members of the board are:
Paul Wiedefeld, Maryland Transportation Secretary, Chairman
Dontae Carroll
William H. Cox Jr.
William C. Ensor III
W. Lee Gaines, Jr.
Mario J. Gangemi, P.E.
John F. von Paris
Cynthia D. Penny-Ardinger
Jeffrey S. Rosen

Additionally, the firm conducts diversity, equity, and inclusion audits and consulting, which highlights Ms. Barber's commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Anything here that would be useful to manage the operation of a major shipping port?
She been in office 7 months.
She hit all the right Democrat buttons along the way to her current appointment, none of which had anything to do with shipping, shipping companies, shipping ports or shipping operations in Baltimore or anywhere else. It’s clear she was hired to bring DEI HR into the Port of Baltimore.
She must be a radical leftist because if she was a conservative the title would have been “another port commissioner has been appointed…in other news”…
Where was the tugboat that should have towed the ship in?
She’s an overpaid DEI clown, but you cannot blame this ship/bridge collision on her. DEI means black people gettin paid! Big bucks (at least $100000 year) for doing nothing useful.
As Trump will say, “It’s a scam”
Unless she instituted procedural or policy changes during her 7-month tenure, it’s unclear she had anything to do with this accident. Some of these jobs are no-show appointments dished out to political hacks, where the real power lies with the permanent bureaucracy.
And just what are those degrees in?!
Well, well, well. DEI appointment. Lots of FReepers scolded those who brought up the possibility of incompetent DEI hires affecting the issue. People DYING due to DEI hiring really is a thing and it’s going to get WORSE before it gets better.
