There was a high school in MA that had the remains of a crashed car in front of it for years. A teenager boy who had attended the school had been killed in it.

I don't know if it was the one you speak of but my high school in MA had just such a display back in the early 80s.
My friend Alan was driving the car. He and one of his passengers were killed while "celebrating" the night before graduation day.
