I worked in the home building industry for years and saw legions of illegals take construction jobs. The builders knew damn well they were hiring people who had no right to be here but their excuse is always “We don’t hire illegals. We have no control over who our subcontractors hire’’.
I wonder if ICE would do a site inspection if asked. Probably not, but just telling the contractor that it would happen might help. At some point I’m going to have to have some work done on our house, and I don’t want to be paying illegals for anything.
