I remember when they named the DC airport after Reagan. “Do you have any idea how much it will cost to change the name? The signage, the updated maps!” You’d’ve thought we could balance the budget deficit, but for renaming DCA.
The next year the same agency renamed BWI after Thurgood Marshall. Nary a peep.
Washington National was a complete dump before the renovation / rebuild and rename to Reagan National. I was traveling to DC on business a fair amount in the pre-renovation era, and it was really, really bad.
