Makes me wonder why states don’t just produce their own drugs to carry out the executions?
I’m a big fan of purging the world of the scum within, but if you’re on this site, I think you’ll agree the last thing any free-thinking person wants is a government operated production of anything—especially death medicine!
wouldnt it be just easier to take some Fentanyl and dose them up with it?
Thirty years? Justice delayed, certainly.
And, may God have mercy on his soul, greater mercy than he showed for his victim.
I think if the state cannot acquire supplies from private manufacturers, to carry out their responsibility, than that might have to be looked at. It’s better than not acquiring the supplies and keeping them on death row forever.
That’s a shame. /s
Startin the day with some GOOD news!
Thank goodness the Supremes turned down his late appeal.
Now he can take it up with God.
“May God have mercy on his soul”
I don’t think so. Too late for that.
If he accepted Christ while in prison, then he’s doing just fine now. If he didn’t, he chose poorly in life and he’s experiencing his just desserts.
More than half his life waiting for execution.
May he rot in hell and why did it take 30 years? The day they’re found guilty you put a bullet in their head. That would be Justice.
Why don’t they just give him a fentanyl pill. Happy way out.
The article said they used Phenobarbital that is a common drug, not the stupid 3 drug mix most states were using till manufacturers quit making them.
Last time I was in surgery what ever they used, I was out in 10 seconds or so, all they had to do was up the dosage and I would not have woke up ever again.
Seems to me taking 30 years to do that to a tried, convicted, trial, and sentence reviewed by another court, killer/rapist is ridiculous.
Life is precious.
After saying that the degree of difficulty it’s became to execute a convicted murderer is ridiculous.
Follow the money. I’ve read some lawyers have made their entire career off defending 1-2 murderers. And often that is from your tax money.
30 years later. They shoulda fried his ass within the first 30 days.
My guess is that if the doctors performing them were to order that I be given 4 times as much medication as I was given I would have quietly, and painlessly, gone off to my Reward.
It doesn't sound that complicated to put a living being down.
Not a single picture of the victim to be found anywhere.
I tried too!
You are right. Swept under the rug.
Georgia shows how it is done. The drug package they used worked. Now other states can get on with the business.
Firing squad
Carbon monoxide
There are numerous ways to do the execution. The will to do it is kind of an obstacle many times.
Meanwhile, 50x more rapes and murders are happening. The only way to make capital punishment meaningful is for the sentence of death be quick. 30 years? Give me a break.
