Bush ‘43 shoda had Ike Turner perform. Raise a few eyebrows. Then suggest Ike got a bad rap. He died on ‘06 or thereabouts.

Gee, thanks. I felt old, until I read that. Now I feel ANCIENT. I was somewhere between Jump School and Ranger School at Ft. Benning then. and even then, I was one of the older guys in both.

I am still proud that I voted for President Nixon.   I also saw Merle Haggard and Bob Dylan at the Chastain Park Amphitheatre, May 5, 2006 (18 years ago).   Great show for two titans of music.

Merle Haggard, who I consider the greatest country western singer of all time. I say again, the greatest of all time.

And keep your retirement
And your so-called Social Security
Big city turn me loose and set me free

Darn that makes me feel old. And I knew Merle. I grew up around him and Buck since my family was in the bar business in Bakersfield/Lamont.
