I was at a sub shop a few months ago and a young policeman was behind me. I paid for mine and stepped aside while he ordered. He was reaching for his wallet to pay and I put cash down, telling the cashier it was on me. The policeman was speechless and stammered, “Are you sure?”
My husband is a former policeman and I told him I felt that guy’s pain when I was standing there in front of him - weird but he just seemed ‘spent’. It is a thankless job now, compliments of the democrats and our LE have had targets put on their backs.
Thank you to all law enforcement out there!!!! You are loved!!!!
My cousin’s daughter’s husband was injured two years ago after a back injury incurred on a police chase - “decommissioned” by the police force and offered a desk job (for the rest of his career) - he “mustered out.”
He worked overnight shifts and one of his colleagues was killed by a robber in a gas station hold-up.
Entire family was extremely relieved, especially my cousin’s daughter who has two small children - the husband fell into a deep depression because police work was his life’s goal. He now works a security company as a consultant.
The mustering out may have saved his life.
