One does not want to run across them in the wild. They can move very fast and like you say venomous and deadly.

The Mamba is one hell of a fast snake, it can chase a person down at about 12 MPH. They can maintain that speed for miles making it next to impossible to outrun.

One hell of a dangerous and quite mean snake.
