I happened to be 2nd in line at a red light on an open, rural road a couple months ago. The car in front of me was a Tesla Plaid. Driver must have punched it into Ludicrous Speed when the light turned green, because it just flat disappeared into the distance. I’ve always been pretty quick on the pedal, but I wasn’t out of 1st gear before I lost sight of the Plaid.
I understand the electric car loses lots of range when quickly accelerating...plus the battery gets very hot and the battery longevity suffers. But they can unwind very fast.
