I get it that California is a very large state and that there’s a lot of ballots to count.
But isn’t it reasonable to think that they should have been done by now?!
We’ve got this thing called provisional voting. People who aren’t on the voting roll at the precinct or who were already mailed an absentee ballot can walk in and vote. These votes are held aside and then handled separately to try to make sure the person has not voted twice.
It takes a long time and races aren’t officially called for weeks or months after election day.
Late absentee ballots receive the same treatment.
It’s frustrating for people in close races. It also facilitates corruption and ballot dumping which favors Democrats.
Keep in mind, Garvey’s race was funded by Schiff, who didn’t want to face a popular Democrat in the general election. (Our anti-democratic open promaries are another augject).
It remains to be seen if Garvey’s in it for real.
Depends, are they counting ballots or creating ballots.
