WHY would any parent send their lily-white daughter to a school that is 95% black? Its guaranteed that once she is targeted, she will always be at risk - for exactly what happened.
Moreover, its a school that ranks at the bottom of Missouri public school ratings.
Its a form of child abuse.
If they couldn’t afford private school and that was the school district they lived in, they had no choice. My parents had the same problem when my brother and I went to high school. We didn’t have it quite so bad as this poor girl— our school was about 50/50 white/black— but it was bad enough.
Not all parents can afford private schools or time to home school them
