Reference to the Hun in World War I was arguably fueled by the Kaiser’s Boxer Rebellion speech.

World War I reference to the Hun on a Liberty Bond poster:

From World War II: “The Hun is always either at your throat or at your feet.” - Winston Churchill’s address to Congress, 1943.

Heck. Much of the world spent much of the 19fh and 20th Centuries trying to keep the Huns within their borders too. Attila had nothing on Hitler.

The American Pilots called the Germans “Huns” during WW! also.

There is little evidence that Hungarians are actually related to the Huns. However, some Hungarians like to think so.

Attila is a popular boy's name in Hungary.

The football team at Pomona College, the archrival of my alma mater Occidental College was known as the Huns early in the previous century. Around WWI, they became the Sage Hens—one of the few football teams to name itself after the female of the species.
