I read maybe as far back as thirty years ago, that a pot smoker that has not smoked for a long length of time is significantly more likely to have a heart attack if they pick it up again.   It was a Danish study or from some other Scandinavia country.   I have no doubt that could be the case.   I cannot imagine the toll it could have on me after almost fifty years of abstinence.

If I developed a cancer and had to be on chemotherapy, I might weigh the risk and pick up cannabis in some other form, but toking a joint might be worse for me than the cancer and chemo combined.

I believe that to be accurate. If you haven’t smoked in a while the effects can be profound, with raised heart rate and other effects. If you are over 50 and haven’t tried the herb since college, be careful and limit your intake.
