If I remember jeeps were utility vehicles and not normally deployed as offensive attack vehicles. Getting ambushed in one or an MP ceckpoint version with a machine gun, isnt the same as using one in an assault.

And that is a Cadillac compared to the “mule” used by the USMC in the Vietnam war. Army too I think. Carry up ammo, pull out casualties, and in Hue the Marines mounted a 106 recoilless rifle on it.
